Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze will attend the 29th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP29) on November 11-13, in Baku, Azerbaijan.
The Georgian government announced that the conference leaders will be hosted by UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
“During his visit to Baku, the Georgian Prime Minister will meet the President of Azerbaijan. Irakli Kobakhidze is scheduled to speak at the COP29 Leaders’ Summit and participate in roundtable panel discussions on various topics,” the statement reads.
COP29 will focus on the impact of climate change on humanitarian and economic aspects of life. Leaders will address essential steps needed to reduce emissions, aiming to mitigate the severe effects of global warming.
Prime Minister Kobakhidze will be joined by a delegation including First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Levan Davitashvili, Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili, and Government Administration Head Levan Zhorzholiani.
