Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze announced that the appointment of 12 ministers has finalized the formation of the new government following last month’s parliamentary elections.
Speaking at a press conference, Kobakhidze also addressed the upcoming presidential election, scheduled for December 14. He emphasized that after the election, “all constitutional bodies will be staffed in accordance with the will of the majority of the Georgian people.”
The Prime Minister noted that, under the new constitutional rules, the Georgian President will no longer be elected directly by universal suffrage. Instead, the Central Election Commission will establish an electoral college of 300 members to select the new president.
