Georgian and US leaders hold talks on sidelines of Winter Olympics

Mikheil Kavelashvili and Georgia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Maka Bochorishvili, met with US Vice President J.D. Vance and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on the sidelines of events marking the opening of the Winter Olympic Games. The information was released by Mikheil Kavelashvili’s administration.

Based on the official statement, Mikheil Kavelashvili and Maka Bochorishvili attended a reception hosted by the President of the International Olympic Committee, Kirsty Coventry.

“At the event, Mikheil Kavelashvili and Maka Bochorishvili met with leaders of various countries, including US Vice President J.D. Vance and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio. During the discussions, particular emphasis was placed on the shared values of the two countries,” the statement said.

The press service also noted that Mikheil Kavelashvili will attend a dinner hosted by the President of Italy, Sergio Mattarella, in honor of foreign heads of state participating in the opening ceremony of the 25th Winter Olympic Games.
