The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Ilia Darchiashvili held his first meeting with his Moldovan counterpart Nicu Popescu in Luxembourg after receiving the EU Self-Assessment Questionnaire.
The Ministers highlighted the importance of this step on the path of the two countries’ integration into the European Union. The Ministers agreed on close coordination in this process, as well as on further strengthening the close and friendly relations between Georgia and Moldova.
The EU Membership Questionnaire was handed to Georgia on 11 April, in Luxembourg. Based on the answers Georgia gives, the European Commission will deliver its opinion on granting the country candidate status.
