With the general support of TBC, the Georgian National Team achieved outstanding results at the European Girls’ Olympiad in Informatics as part of the Georgia Tech Olympiads Hub initiative.
The international competition, held in Cesenatico, brought together participants from more than 50 countries worldwide. Georgian students delivered impressive performances: Gvantsa Khvedelidze won a bronze medal, while Tako Shanava received an honorable mention.
“Participating in EGOI was a tremendous responsibility for me. I am proud and happy to represent Georgia and achieve such a result. This success gives me even more motivation to continue growing in the field of technology,” said Gvantsa Khvedelidze, a 12th-grade student at Vladimir Komarov Tbilisi Physics and Mathematics Public School N199.
The European Girls’ Olympiad in Informatics is a global competition aimed at increasing girls’ participation in informatics and technology while promoting gender equality in STEM fields. This year marked Georgia’s sixth participation in the Olympiad. Over the years, Georgian contestants have achieved remarkable international success, earning a total of two gold, five silver, and three bronze medals.
The Georgia Tech Olympiads Hub was established with the general support of TBC and organized by Business and Technology University (BTU). The initiative focuses on identifying talented students, supporting their development, and preparing them for international Olympiads. Members of the national team undergo intensive training programs at BTU that meet international standards.
