Georgia Reports 3278 New Cases, 53 Deaths

Georgia reported 3,278 coronavirus cases, 3,890 recoveries, and 53 deaths on December 15, the official figures show.

50,585 tests have been conducted in the past 24 hours throughout the country.

Georgian capital Tbilisi recorded the highest number of 1,444 Covid-19 cases within the last 24 hours, followed by the Imereti region with 472 cases and the Shida Kartli region with 286 cases.

The country’s total case tally reached 898,079, among them, 844,875 people recovered and 12,878 died.

The daily test-positivity rate stands at 6.48%, while it was 7,46% in the last 14 days.

Currently, out of 1,472 critical patients, 323 require mechanical ventilation.

No new Omicron strain has been detected in the country so far.
