As the Deputy Minister of Economy Mariam Kvrivishvili stated, Georgia and Israel are strengthening cooperation in tourism and civil aviation following a meeting with Israeli Ambassador Hadas Ester Meitzad in Tbilisi.

Held with the participation of Civil Aviation Agency Chair Givi Davitashvili, Georgian Airports Association Director Levan Moseshvili, and Supervisory Board Chair Tamar Ioseliani, the meeting focused on expanding flight connections and increasing tourist flows.

Kvrivishvili emphasized Israel’s growing importance as a tourism partner, revealing that four airlines currently offer regular flights between the two countries. “In 2024, the number of flights to Israel will double compared to 2019, reaching 70 per week,” she said.

Tourist arrivals from Israel surged by 72.9% in the first quarter of 2024, placing the country fourth among Georgia’s top 15 inbound tourism markets.

Kvrivishvili also emphasized opportunities tied to Kutaisi International Airport, saying, “Kutaisi Airport has significant potential. We are eager for more airlines to operate flights to additional destinations more frequently, which will enhance tourist flows in Kutaisi and the Imereti region.”
