Georgia’s economy is growing at a noticeably faster pace than originally projected in the 2025 state budget, yet the government has confirmed it will not revise the spending plan at this stage.
Deputy Finance Minister Giorgi Kakauridze told lawmakers during a session of the Parliament’s Health and Social Issues Committee that while the budget was based on a 6% growth forecast, actual performance has already exceeded that target. He said that economic growth reached 8.3% in the first half of the year and averaged 8% in the first seven months. “We expect the high pace to continue through the end of the year, surpassing the 6% forecast. However, we are not revising the current budget and will adjust projections in line with the next budget cycle,” Deputy Minister further noted.
Data from Geostat’s preliminary estimates confirms the trend. Georgia’s real GDP grew by 6.5% in July 2025 compared to the same period last year, with the seven-month average at 8%.
Several sectors have been at the forefront of this momentum, including transport and storage, information and communication, trade, as well as arts, entertainment and recreation.
