GD cuts visa-free stay for Ukrainians from 3 years to 1

Ukrainian citizens will be allowed to stay in Georgia without a visa for 1 year instead of 3 years. The relevant decree was issued by Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.

“Ukrainian citizens have the right to enter Georgia without a visa and stay for a full 1-year period. Those Ukrainian citizens who entered and were present in Georgia before February 24, 2025, will have their stay extended until February 24, 2026,” the decree states.

For reference, based on Prime Minister’s decree of April 23, 2024, the visa-free entry and stay period for Ukrainian citizens in Georgia was extended to 3 years. Before Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Ukrainians were allowed to stay in Georgia visa-free for one year.
