GD Chair: There’s a global war party interested in opening a second front in Georgia

“There is a global war party that has an interest in prolonging the first front in Ukraine as much as possible, and opening a second front in Georgia. The military conflict can be transferred to other countries according to their wishes –  Georgian society must be vigilant!” – is how the Chairman of Georgian Dream Irakli Kobakhidze responded to the statement of the President of Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, that “if it were not for Turkey’s efforts in the last two years, the Western club would have dragged Turkey into a war against Russia.”

He claimed that “Georgian society should not allow the Ukrainization of Georgia.”

“There is a global war party, by this we mean very specific people, that have an interest in prolonging as much as possible the first front in Ukraine, and opening a second front in Georgia. The military conflict can move to other countries according to their wishes. This is very sad and worrying,” he said.

“Against this background, the main thing is to protect our own state interests, and, most importantly,  Georgian society must be vigilant. The Ukrainization of Georgia should not be allowed, Georgian society should not allow it, it requires every minute vigilance. The risks related to the second front are real, society should be vigilant in order not to allow the party of global war to realize its plans in Georgia1”
