“The country is in the early stages of the third wave of coronavirus spread,” the director of National Center for Disease Control, Amiran Gamkrelidze stated today.
“We had this type of growth around the end of September-the beginning of October last year. Today’s situation is very similar to when we entered the intense second wave,” he explained.
He added that since the country gained a lot of experience during the first and second waves, the NCDC does not want anyone to go through the same again.
“The only solution is very strong self-discipline, very good observance of all recommendations – Face masks, distancing, sanitary order, avoiding large gatherings, and intensive vaccination,” Gamkrelidze stated.
