“I will tell you directly, if we do not fulfill the vaccination plan, I will not speak about the possible reason for that, of course, there is a danger of another epidemic outbreak and some restrictions to be introduced again,” director of the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health (NCDC) Amiran Gamkrelidze said.
He also mentioned that the rate of wearing a mask has dropped significantly, which may create problems. “Again there is a tendency for the public to believe that we have won against Covid-19, and this can really create problems.”
Gamkrelidze added that so far the epidemic situation has not worsened, however, the increase in new cases of infection may be a certain signal.
The NCDC calls on the population to follow the recommendations.
