NCDC Head: We’re Back in the Red Zone, Wearing Masks Outdoors Should Be Reintroduced

The head of the National Center for Disease Control, Amiran Gamkelidze, stated the epidemic situation in the country is getting worse, and it is necessary to follow all the recommendations: first of all wearing a face mask indoors is crucial.

Gamkrelidze notes that the only way to defeat the pandemic is through vaccination, “30-40 percent are infected with the Delta strain and it is growing very fast,” Gamkrelidze added.

“It is important that we all go and get vaccinated, there are enough vaccines in the country and there will be more to vaccinate 15-20 thousand people freely today. The order of the Minister will be signed this week and everyone who had infected with coronavirus will be able to get vaccinated within 30 days,” Gamkrelidze said.
