Instead of demonstrating its commitment to the European future of Georgia, the government keeps acting in the interests of Russia, Giorgi Gakharia, the chairman of the ‘For Georgia’ party, writes on Twitter.
He claims that the government attacks the German foreign minister and welcomes direct flights and visa-free regime with Russia.
“I welcome FM’s timely visit to Georgia. Instead of proving its genuine commitment to EU integration agenda & demonstrating its loyalty to Georgia’s European future, Government keeps acting in Russian interests, attacking FM of Germany & welcoming direct flights and visa free regime with Russia.
The recent events and today’s reaction of Ivanishvili through his puppets once again proved that the Georgian government, not the Georgian people, deviated from the European path. We hope for Germany’s support”, says Gakharia.
Annalena Baerbock is set to visit Georgia. Before the visit, she made a comment noting that they saw attempts to deviate the country from the pro-European course, a course supported by the absolute majority of Georgians.
“We know what our goal and agenda are – our goal is to get candidate status in December,” the chairman of Georgian Dream Irakli Kobakhidze said, responding to the statement issued by the German Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Kobakhidze claimed that “only the radical opposition creates obstacles on the way to European integration.”
