Gakharia asks ambassadors not to attend the first session of Parliament of 11th convocation

I would like to ask the ambassadors accredited to our country not to attend the first session of the 11th convocation parliament, so as not to give the opportunity to Georgian Dream to manipulate and speculate, – the leader of the Gakharia for Georgia party, Giorgi Gakharia, said at a press conference.

He also called on citizens and supporters of Georgia that on the day the first session of parliament is held, “everyone should raise a voice of protest against the current government, signaling that they do not consider these elections to be fair or democratic.”

“I want to address the diplomatic corps accredited in Georgia. First of all, to the ambassador of the United States of America and the ambassadors of the member states of the European Union. I would like to ask you to protect the essence, content and meaning of Georgian citizens’ participation in elections together. Also, let’s protect together the content and meaning of elections as the main democratic institution for a peaceful change of government in Georgia.

“Tens of thousands of Georgian citizens are protesting the stolen votes and election results in the streets of Georgia today. Just like our strategic partners, the leaders of your states and the European Union say that a full independent investigation is necessary to legitimize the elections.

“Based on these arguments, I would like to ask you not to attend the first session of the Parliament of the 11th convocation and thereby protect the will of the citizens of Georgia so that the subsequent elections are not stolen. Let’s protect the content and meaning of the next elections. Let’s protect the aspirations of Georgian citizens through elections and have the opportunity to change the government in a peaceful manner, as in a democratic country,” said Gakharia.

He claimed that the elections of October 26, 2024 were systematically rigged.

“There were three main factors of systemic nature. It was the secrecy, the formation of commissions completely under the influence of Georgian Dream and the people connected with Georgian Dream, as well as the systematic use of personal data of our citizens, which led us to the results that today, neither the international community nor our citizens, know the results of these elections. accepted as legitimate and fair. Georgian Dream had a very good opportunity to prevent this crisis from happening and to bring the country out of this crisis. They could simply publish the list of citizens participating in the elections and that would answer all the questions. They did the opposite and started an artificial “fake” investigation, and the prosecutor’s office, in fact, captured the hardware on which this information is stored.

“Today, when the country is clearly in a crisis of legitimacy, while every citizen of Georgia believes that the elections and the vote were stolen from him, of course, I would once again respectfully ask the ambassadors accredited to our country not to attend the first session of the Parliament of the 11th convocation, so as not to give The possibility of manipulating and speculating Georgian Dream – gaining legitimacy. On the other hand, I would like to request and appeal to every citizen of Georgia and our supporters, that on the day when the first session of the Parliament will be held, we should all raise our voice of protest to the current government, that we do not consider these elections to be fair or democratic. Accordingly, we will not accept the results of these elections until a full-fledged, independent, neutral investigation is conducted and all legitimate questions of both Georgian citizens and our international partners are fully answered,” said Gakharia.
