During the last month of this year, the volume of foreign exchange reserves increased by 30.6 million dollars compared to February and reached 4.77 billion dollars.
According to the National Bank of Georgia, it purchased 7 tons of gold worth 500 million dollars. The Council of the National Bank of Georgia made the decision about it on March 1, 2024.
“As of today, the amount of purchased gold is approximately 11% of the international reserves of the National Bank Georgia. This gold will be placed in the National Bank Georgia’s warehouse in Georgia,” said the information published by the National Bank Georgia.
