Georgian Dream Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili expressed confidence that ties with the Vatican will remain strong under Pope Leo XIV, calling the relationship “very important for us.”
Her remarks came after attending the Pope’s inauguration ceremony in Rome, alongside GD-elect president Mikheil Kavelashvili and other delegates.
“We had the opportunity to greet the new Pope,” she said. “There will also be a chance to discuss Georgia’s key priorities with him in the near future.”
