On the International Day of the Girl Child, October 11, we celebrate the first female pilot in the history of Georgian aviation. 29 years old, Nadya Benklyan is the first female pilot in the history of civil aviation in Georgia.
In the aviation field, women still have barriers to overcome, and in order to achieve her goals, Nadya had to work hard, more so than others.
“To describe the emotional experience of flying is very difficult. You feel many things at once – responsibility, confidence, pride, and happiness. It is especially gratifying when you are the one flying the plane. A successful flight gives you faith that you made the right choice, despite all the obstacles,” says Nadya.
