On September 21, from 12:00 to 17:00, within the framework of ‘Tbilisi – World Book Capital’, organized by the Goethe Institute in Georgia, at the Akaki Tsereteli Library (# 24 Chavchavadze Street), an event ‘100 books as a gift’ will be held.
“We continue to cooperate with the German Embassy and the Goethe Institute with another public activity. In parallel with the exhibition of the best German-language publications, at the newly rehabilitated Akaki Tsereteli Library, we are giving Tbilisi residents the opportunity to receive books as gifts,” said Ninia Macharashvili, director of Tbilisi Book World Capital.
100 Georgian translations of German literature will be placed on the bookshelves at the entrance of the library. The books will be sorted so that their cover and title are not visible. Anyone can get involved in the activity, only on the condition that they will read any section of the randomly selected book for 2-3 minutes, after which the selected book will be given as a gift.
The moderator of the event is writer and translator Dato Gabunia.
Books published by Sulakauri Publishing House, Intellect, Karchkhadze Publishing House, Melani, Diogenes, Books in Batumi and Palitra L will be presented on the shelves.
‘Tbilisi – World Book Capital’ is a UNESCO project implemented with the financial support of Tbilisi City Hall. The general sponsor of the project is the Bank of Georgia.
