The European Union has allocated €145 million in humanitarian assistance to Ukraine, based on a statement released by the press service of the European Commission.
The Commission stated that the funding will be used to provide Ukrainians with shelter, food, and medical supplies, amid intensified Russian attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.
“In parallel with humanitarian assistance, the European Union has delivered 447 generators to Ukraine. An additional 500 generators will be sent in the near future,” the European Commission said.
As part of the same humanitarian support package, the Commission will also allocate €8 million to Moldova to assist Ukrainian refugees currently residing in the country.
The EU emphasized that the assistance aims to address urgent humanitarian needs as Ukraine continues to face severe disruptions to essential services during ongoing hostilities.
