The chairman of the “European Democrats” party, Paata Davitaia, says the decision made by the separatist parliament, “with the Bolshevik method,” regarding the transfer of Bichvinta country house to the Russian Federation is the illegal alienation of Georgian property and the beginning of the annexation of Georgia.
He claimed that at dawn, the so-called separatist parliament, violating the regulations of the parliament, fearing the people, used Bolshevik methods and ratified the agreement on the transfer of Bichvinta country house to the Russian Federation, which was voted for by 26 out of 28 deputies.
As Davitaia noted, the agreement was signed with a reservation- if this property falls into the hands of a third party, the agreement will be canceled.
He then stated that this is the illegal alienation of Georgian property.
“I call on the Government of Georgia to start an investigation on this matter. To inform our partners that the President of Russia, who is wanted by the prosecutor’s office in The Hague, is appropriating Georgian property.
“It should be emphasized that this is the beginning of the annexation of Georgia. The Russian Federation has already “legally” begun to reshape the territories occupied by it,” says Paata Davitaia.
Despite the long protests of part of the population of Abkhazia, activists, civil society and opposition forces, the de facto parliament of Abkhazia met on December 27, at 6 o’clock in the morning and made a decision to transfer the Bichvinta country house to Russia.
The agreement grants ownership on all construction on the territory of the Bichvinta resort to the Russian Federal Protection Service, with the surrounding 186-hectare land transferred to Russia on a 49-year lease.
