The European Union has summoned Russia’s ambassador to Brussels following the recent Russian assault on Kyiv.
EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs, Kaja Kallas, shared details on social media X, noting the impact of the attack. “I just spoke with my colleagues in the EU delegation in Kyiv after our building was damaged by Russian strikes. Your resilience in continuing to support Ukraine gives us strength. No diplomatic mission should ever be a target. In response, we are summoning the Russian ambassador to Brussels,” Kallas wrote.
The Russian attack on Kyiv has now claimed at least 15 lives, including four children. Residential buildings, private homes, and kindergartens were damaged, with one apartment building partially destroyed. The EU delegation building in Ukraine, the British Council, and Radio Free Europe offices also suffered damage.
