Chair of the Parliamentary Committee on European Integration Levan Makhashvili, together with the President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly (OSCE PA), Pere Joan Pons Sampietro, and an accompanying delegation, visited the occupation line near the village of Khurvaleti.
During the visit, Makhashvili briefed members of the OSCE PA delegation on the ongoing occupation of Georgian territories by the Russian Federation, outlining its impact on the country’s security environment and the daily challenges faced by local residents living near the administrative boundary line.
He also highlighted the broader security risks and humanitarian concerns stemming from the continued occupation of Georgia’s regions.
The visiting OSCE PA delegation is headed by President Pere Joan Pons Sampietro and includes Vice-President of the OSCE PA and Special Representative for the South Caucasus Luis Graça, Deputy Chair of the Committee on Political Affairs and Security Jevrosima Pejović, Deputy Chair of the Committee on Democracy, Human Rights and Humanitarian Questions Christine Blower, and OSCE PA Secretary General Roberto Montella.
