The EU Delegation to Georgia highlighted on social media that the country’s path toward EU membership represents a step toward a safer and more secure future, joining a historic project of peace.
“The European Union was created in the 1950s to rebuild a continent devastated by war. Today, it is the most peaceful region in the world, where former rivals collaborate to achieve prosperity. For more than 70 years, there has been no war within the EU — a historic achievement in establishing lasting peace. Georgia’s path toward EU membership is a path toward becoming part of this historic peace project,” the statement reads.
