The European Union Ambassador to Georgia, Paweł Herczyński, visited farmers and producers of niche products in the village of Kakhati, Samegrelo-Upper Svaneti, benefiting from FAO support under ENPARD IV, funded by the EU and Sweden.
The visit showcased local high-quality products, including dairy items, honey, dried fruits, hazelnuts, sauces, wines and an Elarji-making masterclass. Farmers and producers have participated in initiatives such as Farmer Field Schools, technical trainings, matching grant schemes and agromarkets.
The event illustrated the impact of these programs in enhancing food safety, value addition and market readiness. By supporting smallholders, the interventions help farmers adopt safer production practices, diversify income sources and bring higher-value goods to market.
