“What we would like Georgia to do, is to make sure that Georgia, its territory and its companies are not used to circumvent our sanctions. For the moment, we have no information to the contrary,” EU Ambassador to Georgia Pawel Herczynski remarked.
According to him, the EU sanctions are intended to modify Russia’s behaviour and end its aggression towards Ukraine.
“As European Union, we have introduced the toughest-ever sanctions on Russia. Our objective is to change Russian behaviour and to make sure that Russia stops its aggression against Ukraine as soon as possible and that this horrible war goes to an end.
For this, we need Russia to change its behaviour and stop its aggression against Ukraine. One of the elements of our multiphase policy towards Russia is sanctions.
All 27 member states have, every time, agreed on a new package of sanctions, and we do it with our international partners. I know that different countries are contributing to these joint efforts in different ways, as Georgian introduced some of our sanctions to all of them.
What we would like Georgia to do, is to make sure that Georgia, its territory and its companies are not used to circumvent our sanctions. For the moment, we have no information to the contrary,” EU Ambassador said.
