The US Embassy in Georgia on Sunday echoed Soviet Occupation Day, saying “The United States admires the love of freedom and independence of the Georgian people.”
In its statement commemorating the soldiers and civilians who died in Georgia during the Soviet invasion 103 years ago, the Embassy added” “On Georgia’s path to Europe, the US is by your side.”
As per the July 21, 2010 Parliamentary Resolution, February 25 is announced as Soviet Occupation Day.
