The Embassy of Ukraine in Georgia responds to the recent statements of the Prime Minister of Georgia and the leadership of the Parliament and declares that the Georgian government is not looking for an enemy there, where it is needed.
The Embassy of Ukraine categorically rejects “insinuations that have nothing to do with reality”.
“In the last few days, the Prime Minister of Georgia and the leadership of the Parliament made a number of unfriendly statements towards Ukraine.
Almost verbatim repeating the thesis of the Russian propaganda, the representatives of the Georgian government accused Ukraine of preparing a coup d’état in Georgia, trying to get it involved in a war with Russia and sending forces to start a civil war.
We categorically reject such insinuations, which have nothing to do with reality.
The government of Georgia is not looking for an enemy there, where it is needed.
We are sure that the statements of Georgian politicians cannot shake the close friendly relations of the Ukrainian and Georgian peoples. We greatly appreciate the support of Georgians at a time when Ukrainians are fighting for independence. On the other hand, Ukraine has been and will remain a friend of the Georgian people, which we wish not to stop the development of the European future,” the statement of the Embassy of Ukraine reads.
