According to the decision of the political council of the National Movement, the election of the chairman of the party will be held on January 28-29, 2023, the chairman of the political council, Koba Nakopia told journalists.
He noted that the elections will be held using the blockchain system.
“Regarding the date, I came up with the initiative to schedule elections for January 28-29, 2023. There was full support for this issue as well. With virtually no objections, the political council approved the proposal with full support and set January 28-29 as the election day. The registration of candidates will be over on Tuesday, after that no new candidate can be registered,” said Nakopia.
He claimed that the party’s struggle does not end with this and they will definitely achieve that ex-president Mikheil Saakashvili and other political prisoners are free.
“No one should have the illusion that the National Movement is being dissolved. This is a normal, democratic process, which will further strengthen the National Movement and will lead to its complete victory in the next elections,” he said.
He also added that he supports Nika Melia for the post of party chairman.
