The Parliament discussed the Draft Law on E-Commerce and approved it with 82 votes.
The Draft regulates the activity related to the e-commerce/information society service, responsibility of the service providers, as well as the obligations of the providers, and the principles, rights and duties of the beneficiaries.
The development of the framework legislation in the e-commerce sphere is associated with the development of entrepreneurship and e-trade, the digital market, as well as additional safeguards for the rights of consumers and trust-building in e-commerce platforms, which will promote Georgia on the European digital market and the global trade area.
