A Manhattan jury on Thursday afternoon, May 30, convicted ex US President Donald Trump on all 34 counts of falsifying business records in his New York hush money criminal trial, making him the first president in US history to be found guilty of a felony.
Prosecutors charged Trump with participating in an illegal conspiracy to undermine the integrity of the 2016 election, including a scheme to suppress negative information by concealing a hush money payment to an adult film star.
Following the verdict, Trump condemned the trial as a “disgrace” and “rigged.”
Judge Juan Merchan set a sentencing hearing for July 11 at 10am ET.
