Donald Trump’s plan regarding Ukraine may become the foundation for negotiations, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said.
“At the moment, the only substantive proposal is the American one — Trump’s project. We believe it could serve as a good basis for negotiations, and President Putin has also spoken about this,” Peskov stated.
He claimed that “European participation will become necessary at a later stage in the ongoing talks on resolving the conflict in Ukraine.”
“It is obvious that discussing Europe’s security architecture and talking about security guarantees is practically impossible without the involvement of Europeans. At a certain point, their participation will be required,” Peskov noted.
Peskov also said that the text of the US “peace plan” has already been revised.
“Negotiations are underway between the Americans and the Ukrainians. We understand that the published text is undergoing certain changes. We understand that the version we received unofficially and ahead of time has also been modified,” the Kremlin spokesperson said.
