Croatian President Zoran Milanović visits Georgia

The President of Croatia, Zoran Milanović, is visiting Georgia, marking the first presidential-level visit between the two countries and aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation.

As part of the visit, Mikheil Kavelashvili hosted President Milanović at the Presidential Palace, where the two leaders held a one-on-one meeting.

Presidential press service says the bilateral talks focused on current issues in Georgia–Croatia relations, prospects for deepening cooperation, and ongoing global developments. The meeting highlighted the existing friendly ties, cultural closeness, and shared values between the two countries, which were described as a solid foundation for further development of relations.

During the meeting, Kavelashvili emphasized that Croatia’s support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity is highly valued, adding that Georgia firmly supports Croatia’s territorial integrity as well. The leaders also discussed economic relations and sectoral cooperation between the two countries.

Officials noted that Milanović’s visit provides additional momentum for strengthening bilateral dialogue and expanding cooperation across areas of shared interest, including political, economic, and international partnership.

The Croatian president is visiting Georgia together with a delegation that includes Head of the President’s Cabinet Bartol Šimunić, Presidential Adviser on Foreign and European Affairs Neven Pelicarić, Special Presidential Adviser on Economic Affairs Velibor Mačkić, Croatia’s Ambassador to Georgia Branko Zebić, and representatives of the Presidential Administration.

Croatia and Georgia maintain diplomatic relations and cooperate on various international platforms, including support for sovereignty, territorial integrity, and broader international engagement.
