The Court of Appeals found Georgian tennis player accused of domestic violence, Nikoloz Basilashvili, not guilty of physical and psychological abuse of his ex-wife. Judge Maia Tetrauli announced the decision.
At today’s trial, the parties gave their speeches. The prosecutor’s office demanded a guilty verdict for Nikoloz Basilashvili, while the defense demanded an acquittal.
Neither Nikoloz Basilashvili nor Neli Dorokashvili attended the session, therefore, the accused did not use the right to say a final word. According to the lawyer, Basilashvili could not participate remotely in today’s session due to his health.
Earlier, Basilashvili was acquitted by the Tbilisi City Court.
