Coronavirus: Georgia Reports 165 New Cases, 9197 Tests Performed

Coronavirus: Georgia Reports 165 New Cases, 9197 Tests Performed

165 new cases of coronavirus were detected in Georgia in the last 24 hours, Berdia Sichinava, representative of the Interagency Coordination Council, said at the briefing held at the Government Administration.

“9197 tests were performed in the last 24 hours. As a result, 165 newly confirmed cases of the infection were identified in the last 24 hours. The total number of confirmed cases detected since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic is 265,722.

“Georgian capital Tbilisi recorded the highest number, 57, Covid-19 cases within the last 24 hours, followed by the Imereti region with 31 cases and the Kakheti region with 17 cases.

“The daily test-positivity rate stands at 1.79%, and 2.5% over the past seven days.

“639 people have recovered and the total number of recovered persons has increased to 258,732.

“Unfortunately, we have 11 new cases of death. The total number of deaths has reached 3363”, he said.

Currently, out of 425 critical patients, 101 require mechanical ventilation.
