Influential travel publication Conde Nast Traveler advises its readers to travel to Georgia along with popular destinations in Europe, Asia and America.
“Since the Georgian Orthodox Church uses the Julian calendar, Christmas in Georgia is celebrated on January 7. However, Tbilisi seems to have a festive mood from the beginning of December. The capital of Georgia is decorated with New Year’s decorations, musical performances and Christmas markets are arranged in the city, which especially attract visitors. In Tbilisi, on Freedom Square, the monument of St. George is decorated with cascading lights, which is a massive improvisation of a New Year’s Christmas tree”, writes journalist Caitlin Morton of the publication.
