The Georgian Communications Commission (ComCom) has issued written warnings to ‘TV 25’ and the public organization radio-television ‘Farvana’ for failing to broadcast required programs in line with their authorization conditions. TV 25 was cited for not airing news programs while Farvana was warned for not broadcasting public-political content.
Both broadcasters operate under general broadcasting authorizations which, under the Law on Broadcasting of Georgia and the terms of their respective authorizations, obligate them to air news and public-political programs.
ComCom monitoring revealed that both broadcasters did not comply with these legal and regulatory requirements. Given that neither TV 25 nor Farvana had been subject to administrative penalties for similar violations over the past year, the Commission opted to issue formal written warnings as the appropriate corrective measure.
