On Melikishvili Avenue, near Kakha Kaladze’s election headquarters, a confrontation broke out between members of the ruling Georgian Dream party’s youth wing and demonstrators.
What began as a verbal exchange quickly escalated into a physical altercation.
“When we arrived, there was no police presence — only activists and Georgian Dream supporters. A so-called titushka ran toward me and struck me in the head,” said one of the protesters.
At present, law enforcement officers have formed a cordon outside the Tbilisi mayoral candidate’s campaign headquarters. Protesters are chanting: “Slaves!” and “Russians!”
