Charles Michel stated that in every meeting he had today, he stressed out that the rights of minorities is not an insignificant issue and the protection of freedom plays an important role in Georgia-EU relations.
“I have emphasized at every meeting that the protection of fundamental rights and freedoms plays a central role in Georgia-EU relations.
Minority rights is not an insignificant issue, respect for diversity and human dignity is very important for our fundamental values. Also, constitutional rights, freedom of the press, and expression must be protected,” Michel said.
Charles Michel arrived in Georgia yesterday on July 18. He will attend an international conference entitled ‘Georgia’s European Way’ in Batumi today, July 19.
