Irakli Beraia, the Chair of the Defence and Security Committee in the Georgian Parliament, held a working meeting with Joseph Bilbo, the US Defence Attaché.
At the meeting, the parties talked about the strategic partnership between the two countries in the field of defense and security, and the importance of strengthening it. They also discussed issues of cooperation between the committee and the Attache’s office.
“The Georgian-American strategic partnership is of special importance for the protection of the common values of the two countries, for the deepening of national interests, as well as for strengthening the security of the region and the Euro-Atlantic space as a whole. The US firmly supports the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia, the integration of our country into NATO and the European Union, and the strengthening of its defense capabilities. Further strengthening of the strategic partnership between the two countries is in our common interests,” Beraia said after the meeting.
