Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (CDP), Italy’s largest financial institution, has made its inaugural investment in Georgia through a partnership with TBC Leasing, signing an agreement in Tbilisi. This investment, facilitated by TBC Leasing, involves credit resources totaling EUR 10 million. It is part of an EU-supported initiative aimed at promoting micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises and enhancing financial inclusion.
The agreement ceremony welcomed many attendees, including CDP, TBC, and the National Bank of Georgia representatives while speakers were the EU ambassador in Georgia Pawel Herczyński, the Italian ambassador to Georgia Massimiliano D’antuono, and the head of the Economic Analysis and Reforms of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development Ketevan Chapidze
“Small and moderate entrepreneurship is highly important for Italian industry. The partnership between CDP and TBC leasing underscores that this sector is the top priority for Italy and its eagerness to share expertise with a partner country, Georgia, prominent for its dynamic micro, small, and moderate entrepreneurship. By introducing Georgia to the financial marketplace, this transaction will help the beneficiary enterprises to advance, positively impacting the country’s economy as well as overall well-being. I am delighted that through CDP, Italy can contribute to this mission, confirming positive collaborative practices between two countries,” Massimiliano D’antuono stated in his speech.
