The case of assault on Misha Msvildadze, the founder of Formula TV, will be investigated by the Special Investigation Service instead of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The information is reported by Special Investigation Service.
“The Special Investigation Service will investigate the criminal case initiated on the fact of violence against Mikheil Mshvildadze, which is being investigated under the first part of Article 126 of the Civil Code of Georgia.
According to the resolution of the Prosecutor General of Georgia, the criminal case was removed from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and handed over to the Special Investigation Service for investigation.
The Special Investigation Service will conduct all necessary investigative and procedural actions in the case,” the statement reads.
The transfer of the case to the Special Investigation Service was on the agenda after “Formula” reported that Giorgi Mumladze, an investigator of the State Security Service, is one of the perpetrators of the attack.
The Special Investigation Service investigates crimes committed by a representative of a law enforcement agency, an employee or a person equal to it.
On June 27, Misha Mshvildadze, one of the founders of Formula, was attacked and physically assaulted by an unknown person.
