The Batumi International Art-House Film Festival (BIAFF) will hold a curated Film Week from 13–17 December, offering audiences a curated selection of international cinema despite operating under a reduced budget for 2025. This year’s edition will not include a competition program or jury; instead, the festival will focus exclusively on screenings.
Organizers say the adjusted format allows BIAFF to maintain its annual presence while showcasing notable titles from major global festivals such as Cannes, Venice, Sundance, Berlin, Toronto, Karlovy Vary and Locarno. Films from around 20 countries will be featured across several thematic sections, including both full-length and short works.
In place of a professional jury, festival attendees will be invited to rate the films themselves, determining the Audience Award for 2025. Screenings will take place primarily at Cavea Grand Mall in Batumi, with several additional sessions planned at the Small Hall of Batumi State Art University.
