Batumi is set to host the rural tourism festival ‘Gandagana,’ featuring traditional Adjarian cuisine and folk crafts, on November 22-23, in the city’s Europe Square, embellished with seasonal decorations. The event invites visitors to explore Adjarian village traditions, cuisine, and culture. Organized by Adjara’s Tourism Development Agency since 2015, the annual festival aims to promote tourism in the rural areas of the region.
Festival visitors will have a chance to taste distinctive dishes from all five municipalities of Adjara, alongside a special corner dedicated to authentic local flavors, culinary masterclasses, and cooking contests.
Zurab Shevardnadze, the founder of ‘Gardenia Shevardnadze,’ has designed a decorative craft area especially for this event to reflect the Adjarian mountains’ atmosphere better, with local folk groups and guest bands contributing to the goal.
