After a second day of police raids on the houses and offices of opposition and opposition-affiliated persons, and arrests of various well-known figures- who are deliberately beaten while being detained, demonstrators are out in their thousands on Rustaveli Avenue tonight, angry and refusing to be intimidated.
Riot police are, as always, on standby with water cannon and tear gas.
In an effort not to provoke them, fireworks are not being used, and the crowd is staying away from the entrances to the parliament building. In turn, some say that yesterday less aggression was seen on the part of the police.
