It has been reported that well-known Tbilisi resident and American lawyer Ted Jonas was arrested at the April 30 – May 1 rally protesting the Russian law.
Jonas is said to have been physically assaulted by the police and has several injuries on his body, including his face.
Ted Jonas is a US-trained and educated lawyer licensed in Washington DC. Now Senior Counsel with the international law firm Dentons and board member of the Caucasus Nature Fund, Ted was Managing Partner at DLA Piper Georgia between 2005 and 2014.
Ted is a US citizen who speaks Georgian and has lived in Tbilisi for many years.
