The Rikoti highway has opened a further 12 km of extensions, rounding up its total length to 48 km. The full project consists of a 52 km highway with four lanes, 51 tunnels and 97 bridges.
The addition was made to reduce the travel distance by 8 km and, naturally, travel time.
Today, 93% of the new Rikoti highway is functional and providing means for transportation across the country.
