Abkhazia’s de facto parliament approves Bzhania’s resignation

The de facto parliament of Abkhazia has approved the statement on the resignation of Aslan Bzhania.

Nuzhnaya Gazeta reported that 31 deputies took part in the vote, while 2 ballots were declared invalid.

“28 deputies supported the resignation of Aslan Bzhania, while one deputy voted against it. The parliament approved the results of the vote,” writes the Telegram channel.

The duties of the de facto president will be performed by the de facto vice president, Badra Gunba.

After several days of protests by opposition forces in Abkhazia, the de facto government of Abkhazia and the opposition signed an agreement following a meeting lasting several hours, based on which de facto President Aslan Bzhania would write a statement of resignation, and opposition supporters would leave the occupied government buildings.
