A foot procession will begin at 16:00 today to transfer His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II, Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, to the Holy Trinity Patriarchal Cathedral, announced the Public Relations Service of the Patriarchate of Georgia.
“Today, March 18, 2026, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II — Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, Archbishop of Mtskheta-Tbilisi, and Metropolitan of Bichvinta and Abkhazia — will be transferred from the Patriarchal residence to the Holy Trinity Patriarchal Cathedral. The procession on foot will begin at 16:00,” the statement said.
Ilia II passed away at the age of 93.
