The Government of Georgia has approved 186,000 GEL in funding from the Government Reserve Fund to support the National Academy of Sciences.
As decree states the funds are designated for salary increases for the Academy’s full members (academicians), corresponding members and fellows. The adjustment took effect on September 1.
This step follows amendments to the Law on the National Academy of Sciences adopted by Parliament earlier this year which created the legal framework for revising remuneration at the institution.
Officials said the measure is intended to strengthen the Academy’s role in Georgia’s scientific development while ensuring fair compensation for its members.
